Calvary Community Economic Development Corporation Grants Year in Review.

As we come to the close of another year - 2007 - I would like to summarize
the outstanding support and activities that we've been able to accomplish here in our
Community of West Anne Arundel County.

First of all, let me thank Mr. Geoff Smith, esq., who gave his time and talents to
install and activate our first comprehensive web-site...CCIWC.Grants.org.
We all deeply appreciate Geoff for his expertise, time and efforts to tell our story to the
    community in general.  Thanks, Geoff!

The year 2007 has been one of growth and opportunity for our program.  Our
neighbors have benefited with an increased grant of $6000 to feed the needy through
the Calvary Food Bank.  Every Tuesday evening, Free Food is provided to all in need,
supported by resources and funding from Food Link, Inc. of Annapolis and the MD State
Department of Human Resources, Community Services Agency.

We provided a full meal to over 200 men, women and children at Thanksgiving
week and gave out almost 100 food baskets with a fresh 15-20 lb. turkey to the needy.
An enjoyable time was had by all.

Our Teen Activity Group continues to grow and bless many.  The youth are
active outside of our church walls with support to the homeless in Baltimore, MD, where
they served meals and provided fellowship to the needy.  The County has provided an
$1600 grant to support their ongoing activities.

A Chance to Blossom continues to grow and strengthen.  This ministry to support
women prisoners upon their discharge from our local prisons, provides free resources to help
them reenter our community at their most vulnerable time of need.  Automobiles are donated
and repaired free of charge to provide these ladies with a means of transportation.
Support for education and job placement are also a part of this program.

Emergency Housing is a critical need in our County.  Due to the high cost of rent
and mortgages, many of our neighbors are in need of emergency financial support to preclude
    eviction from their homes.
In partnership with Arundel Community Development Services of Annapolis, CCEDC
has worked since August 2007 to provide emergency financial assistance to our neighbors.
Although required to support only 2 clients per month, Rev. Giovanna Caponiti and myself
have been almost inundated with 23 clients with 60 children for housing assistance.  We have
been able to meet all of their needs keeping these families off the streets and out of harms
    way.
The program continues to grow and many women and children have been effectively
ministered to for other personal and spiritual needs.

As we look to the New Year 2008, I want to personally thank all our Calvary Family
Volunteers for their giving hearts to serve others in our community.  You are all a real blessing.
May God continue to bless the work of our hands and help us to remain humble as
we carry out His work to help the widow, orphan and needy in our area.

                Pastor Curt Oliver
                Executive Director
